Focus On: The H1N1 Pandemic and Global Health Security
On September 16, Dean Julio Frenk gave the first lecture in the HSPH-CPHP Speaker Series this academic year and shared his expertise with the Harvard community numbering over 400 and discussed the recent public health response to the H1N1 outbreak. More and View the lecture on webcast.

Focus On:  Dr. Jim O'Connell
On August 11, Dr. Jim O'Connell was named the JH Kanter Prize Laureate for exceptional health care delivery and for for his exceptional work to enhance health care delivery for hundreds of low income and homeless people in Boston. Dr. O'Connell joined the Division in 2009 and is a founder, President, and street physician at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. More

Focus On:  FDA Tobacco Legislation
On June 22, President Obama signed a historic bill giving the FDA oversight of the tobacco industry over product changes which may cause harm or addiction. Dr. Gregory Connolly and Geoffrey Ferris Wayne recently authored a paper  indicating deliberate ingredient and design changes in tobacco products over time resulting in  consumers who buy the same brand of product are  unaware of product alterations and their effects.
